Green Flag Racing – Show Your Stuff

Dress For Success

You've finally got that first face-to-face meeting set up. Just as the Executive Summary page provides the first impression of your racing proposal, you will be the initial impression when you show up to present your race program to a potential sponsor. Since most lasting impressions, positive or negative, are made within the first few seconds of meeting someone, you will want to be dressed sharp to make it a positive one.

As with most any business meeting, dress to match the person you will be presenting to. At a minimum, this will be business casual. However, if you are in doubt, you may want to wear a tie. It's hard to go wrong dressed up with a sharp-looking tie.

This is probably not the time to wear your team uniform though, even if it will be a very casual setting for the meeting. If you have other team members gone along with you, make sure you are all dressed similarly, and everyone's washed the grease off their hands.

Just remember that one of the thoughts a potential sponsor will have when he sees you and your team members is "Do I want these guys out representing my company?" If you look like slobs right off the bat, then you've got an uphill battle with your race program presentation and closing the deal for sponsorship.
