Pole Position - Set Your Targets and Attract the Attention of Potential Sponsors
Follow-up, Follow-Up, Follow-Up
Here is one of the longest and most important chapters in the entire sponsorship search process:
Follow-up, Follow-Up, Follow-Up, Follow-Up, Follow-Up....
And did I mention follow-up. OK, so it isn't the longest chapter (shortest actually), but it is very important. The key point is that once you've made a contact, always follow-up with the next step, whenever and wherever it is. It may be to send a proposal as soon as you hang up the phone to calling them back in a year next time they have a marketing budget review.
Just make sure you do it so the potential sponsor doesn't slip through the cracks. You don't want the process to stall out. Your ultimate goal at this stage is to set up a face-to-face presentation. So, let's follow-up because that is going to lead us to green flag racing - your opportunity to present your program.
