World Wide Web - Can It Be The Perfect Business?

Type in "make money on the Web", "Web business" or some variant thereof into any internet search engine, and you'll be bombarded with every moneymaking scheme known to man in the search results. Sure, there's a few out there that are legitimate, but what do the vast majority of them smell of? - the stereotypical "get-rich-quick" business of a lifetime. And the web site trying to sell you has the only "secret" out there of how to do just what they did to make a bajillian dollars in 90 days, and it will only cost you $49.95 to download their e-book with all the "secrets" that are not available anywhere else.

But wait there's more! Don't forget the 15 free bonuses if you purchase before midnight, and the cost is only $29.95 if you are one of the next 100 customers. And, of course, there is the no-questions-asked-iron-glad-100%-satisfaction-guaranteed or your money back. Oh yeah, it's easy and anyone can do it. Who could resist an offer like that?

A Real Business

Now I don't know about you, but if you're wanting to make some extra money to buy go fast parts so you can get out to the track to go racing, THEN YOU DON'T HAVE TIME FOR WADIN' THRU THE INTERNET LOOKING AT ALL THAT B.S.!! And 95% of it is just that - a load of crap. Amazingly though, even some of the ones that are schemes, you could probably make some money if you really put forth a long-term, sustained effort to work their plan.

A Business About Your Passions
How about doing a business that you really enjoy? One that you have a great passion about. Of course, if all you care about is making millions, and you'll do anything from selling vitamins to the latest e-book of Internet secrets, then go for it. But then why do most people give up on all those business opportunities if they are so great and can make you lots of money? It's because they don't really care about what the business is doing (i.e. they are only doing it for the money). And money is a very short-term motivator for most people, especially when there is a lack of it after a few short weeks of trying out the latest and greatest scheme. Also, don't forget the free Science of Getting Rich ebook to learn more about developing the right mindset for producing income.

So, let's try something a little different. What is it that really gets you excited (as far as legitimate business ideas go, that is)? What are you really passionate about and have a lot of knowledge about already or have the motivation to find out more? Racing, of course, if you're reading this web site, but you may have some other interests or hobbies that you're an expert in.

Do you restore cars, fly radio-controlled planes, grow exotic, antique roses, write books, instruct guitar, win Pinewood derbies, have woodworking skills, or know all the best camping spots across the country for every NASCAR race? Or if racing is your one and only live-to-die-for passion, is there some facet of racing that you would consider yourself pretty knowledgeable in and can see as a great niche business?

Well, whatever it is that you love, with the Internet it is possible to build that passion into a legitimate, reputable, worldwide business. And nowadays you don't have to be a computer guru to do so (you do need a computer though or at least access to one). And don't think that you have to turn your passion into a web-based business.

Web Business Advantages
We'll talk briefly about traditional "brick and mortar" businesses in More Racing Income Ideas, but let's go over some real advantages of a business on the Web and why you might want to start here:

  • Minimal start-up costs for developing a web site
  • Minimal on-going cost for maintaining a web site
  • Most of your initial investment will simply be your time in developing valuable content specific to the subject of your Web business and setting up the web site
  • Minimal advertising costs by taking advantage of online search engines - people will be looking for you, instead of you knocking on doors
  • Multiple methods to produce income from your web site, many of which don't require you to have any products
  • The ability to blend your Web business with a traditional brick and mortar type if you desire
  • Can be self-sustaining once established in the search engines - "virtual real estate" can be a good way to describe an established Web business
  • The ability to work on your business anywhere you can access the Web
  • Gives you access to literally a world wide market, 24/7 365 days a year - virtually no limits on growth
  • And most importantly, the business is yours and about what you have a great passion for. Having a business you're excited about will carry you a long way past where you may stop if you were trying to do one of those get-rich-quick deals.

Now I've tried to list out just a few of the advantages of a Web business in a down-to-Earth, realistic manner without any hype. You'll see plenty of that if you do any research on this subject on the Internet. As ideal as a web-based business is, you may just have no interest in it and that's OK. If so check out some of the more traditional income possibilities in More Racing Income Ideas. Or if you like the idea of access to the world marketplace, but don't like computers, you can always hire someone to develop your web site - with your input, of course.

So How Do You Do It?
Well, the answer to that question could literally take thousands of web pages (and all those get-rich-quick on the Internet web sites would love to sell you their "secrets"). However, it really does boil down to a fundamental understanding of how people use the Web and how you meet that "need" within your particular business niche.

So here it is: people use the Internet to search for "information" and your Web business provides it. That's it! So how do you build a web site that really works and produces income for you? That answer I'm going to defer to the experts in that field - a company called Site Build It! What separates Site Build It! (SBI!) from all the other companies out there on developing a Web business?

First, they focus on helping you develop the kind of business you want and are passionate about. Second, they have a fundamental understanding like few other companies do of how people use the Web. Site Build It! can show you step-by-step how to develop your Web business in a very natural, powerful process that syncs perfectly with how people use the Internet for information. Lastly, they provide all the integrated tools you can ever need and way over-deliver on the value you receive from them.

So, if you like the idea of having a business that's about your passion, has a very small start-up cost, has access to a worldwide market, can produce income 24/7, doesn't tie you to a "brick and mortar" building, and has the ability to grow beyond your wildest dreams (look at Google, eBay, or Amazon), then first - SLOW DOWN! Take your time and do some research.

Watch the video and review the SBI! Reference Center (it's free, by the way) to get a solid understanding of how to develop a successful on-line business. Click on all the links in the Reference Center. There's a ton of information there, and you'll learn more about the Web business for free there than if you paid hundreds of dollars to all those Web "gurus" out there trying to sell you all their "secrets" (that only they have, of course).

Next, if you really want some serious web studying material, download one or all (there are eight books altogether) of the free SBI! Masters Courses. The first two I would recommend are the Site Build It! Action Guide and the Affiliate Masters Course. The affiliate e-book is over 200 pages alone.

Also, don't miss the Google Adsense article on one of the most credible income-producing methods on the web - Google. Then check out some case studies of folks just like you who have turned their passions into successful online businesses.

Finally, feel free to call or e-mail the folks at Site Build It! They don't bite, and the call's on their dime. Get any questions answered you may have.

That's a common tactic used to get you to feel a sense of urgency and loss if you don't "buy" right then. Just be careful of that kind of stuff. And I do encourage you to do some research beyond my recommendations. Start with the SBI! Compare article and then go check out some other companies as well.

Profit Potential
One other bit of research I would suggest before you spend any money would be for the profit potential of your future online business. If you've already got some ideas for a particular niche, then you can get a rough idea of what kind of profitability it may provide you based on current online demand as well as the available supply of similar web sites. Use SBI's free Search It! and review Day 3 of the Site Build It! Action Guide to help you with this research. Not all of the features discussed in the Action Guide are available to the general public, but enough to allow you to do some substantial research.

Okay. Now that you've gotten this far, whatever you do, DON'T BUY Site Build It!, or any other Web business developing products for that matter, UNTIL you have completed enough research to know this is the route you want to go. And if you do go with Site Build It!, you can be assured you'll receive far greater value than what you pay for. If you've downloaded any of their free e-books, read any of the case studies, or used Search It!, then I'm sure you'll agree, they are a company that over-delivers on their promises.

Hey, what about eBay?
Oops! I almost forgot about eBay. I'm sure most everyone has heard of eBay - the online auction house. It really is a great place to buy and sell goods. I recently got a $243 retail Delonghi coffee/espresso machine for $59.95 - and it was brand new and still in the box! I've also gotten a $200 aluminum racing floor jack for $40 bucks. Quite honestly, I don't know how some of these sellers do deals like that, but it can be a great buyer's market.

eBay can also be a great seller's market and provide a perfect "retail outlet" with, yet again, the world as your market. However, eBay can have its pitfalls, so read over this eBay article to see how to prevent any problems if you go with an eBay business.

Also, you'll see if you do an eBay business internet search that there's a million "eBay Secrets" e-books out there. Skip all that and just go to eBay's own online university. It will get you up and running (and just as successful) as any of those "secrets" books.

Stick To Your Passions
So, best of luck if you decide to go this web business route. An online business really can be the perfect business, especially if you keep it about something that you absolutely love. That's the important part. If you're passionate about it and stick to a proven plan, then success is yours.
